Relay Wakefield Launched
Published: December 2007
Relay Recruitment has opened new Wakefield Area Offices, on the city's Wood Street.
We have worked in the city for some time, but have now established dedicated offices there, following growing demand from employers and candidates for a peerless recruitment practice.
The first tranche of consultants has been put in place; an experienced team of HR professionals, marking Relay's preference for relevant experience - in the sort of companies that form its client base - over ‘agency miles'. Said managing director, Steven Street: "If a recruitment consultant has never worked in business or industry, how can they truly understand a client's needs and concerns?"
John Collins is branch manager. His diverse background of staff supply and deployment includes service with the Royal Navy and posts in a number of industrial, logistics and warehousing operations, including Coors, Nestle and Bookers.
Former Relay client, Rav Ryatt, will support Collins as industrial consultant. His career in warehouse and distribution management includes roles at Vegem and Advent Data, where he pinpointed the qualities that make for the best temporary and permanent staff in the industrial operation. Having communicated these to recruiters for many years, Rav knows the frustrations and real problems caused when agencies fail to deliver.
Also appointed to Relay Wakefield are consultant, Marcus Alcock, and recruitment support, Catherine Sullivan.
Marcus has been involved in freight forwarding and planning across Europe, both in account management and operational roles. Prior to joining Relay, he worked for H&S, a multinational tanker haulier, out of Eindhoven, Netherlands, for two years.
Catherine is another player with wide-ranging experience. After a varied career in education and the retail sector, she has spent the last four years managing major blue chip accounts for a regional recruitment firm.
