Tackling the driver crisis part II

Relay and the Road Haulage Association held a successful breakfast briefing at Hollins Hall, Guiseley, recently to raise awareness of the impending and hard hitting Working Time Road Transport Directive 2005.

march05a2.jpgSpeakers were Relay’s head of logistics, Ben Davies and RHA instructor, Terry Collins, who outlined how to interpret the complex new legislation, what the implications are for different firms and how best to prepare for the changes.

The three-hour event was attended by some 60 road hauliers and fleet managers across the North. It included a lengthy Q&A session and all attendees received detailed delegate notes.

Said Hammond Logistics Transport Manager, Paul Bairstow: “This was a first-class presentation which successfully imparted some tremendously complex and far-reaching issues in simple terms.”

The briefing is part of Relay’s ongoing campaign to acquaint employing organisations from all sectors with future Employment legislation that will affect them and their workforce.
